About BOX = ART. BOX = ART is a site dedicated to the history of video game box art/ cover art and the artists responsible for them. Box arts are profiled from a variety of angles using high quality scans and with the intention of acknowledging the men and women who have played such a major role in shaping our gaming experiences. Nintendo NES 2D Boxes Pack (Full) 1.1. Nintendo entertainment system. (3 reviews) 10 Screenshots.
Limited Edition Brand-New Playable SNES Cartridge for Capcom release of Street Fighter II. Limited Edition of 5,500. Include Premium Instruction Booklet with Tri-Fold Box with Foil, Gloss & Embossments. Retro Pack-In Surprises. Iam8bit creates unique, exclusive and limited merchandise. Collector’s Edition physical games to vinyl soundtracks, fine art prints and beyond. Come the beginning of the 1990’s with Sega’s Mega Drive/ Genesis and Nintendo’s own SNES available and both vying for a more adult market share, the NES’s box art catalogue would start to emphasise the consoles more young-child focus. From the 1991 until 1994 the majority of box arts would be cartoon themed or adorned with adolescent.

I’ll give you the best, well know options; in the best explicative and well comprehensive list:
1.- Nintendo NES 2D by Karakenio
Art style: 2D boxes.
Contains:
● 1169 US, EUR, JP & bootlegs*.
My take: This are just regular 2D game covers, nothing fancy, just like the original 30 the NES Classics has. I’m currently working on the set, *you can check the updates & versions here: ‘NES Classic mod: Nintendo NES 2D by Karakenio‘
I’m also working on a mod that I think I’m going to call:
‘NES Minimal Mod By Karakenio’ (post coming soon).
LINK for download ain’t ready (Lleave me a comment to get what i have already, but you can check the improvement I’ll ve making, here: https://imgur.com/a/uFMbLv2.
2.- Nintendo_NES_by_RetroKenesis
Art style: 3D boxes.
Contains:
● 830 US.
My take: I think this is like the standar for people into mod & emulation. Not my cup of tea, I don’t like those side arts, are thicker than originals boxes and desings not matching the originals. The size of the images is big also: 600px height, when the maximum for the NES Classic arts is 204px.

2.2.- Nintendo_NES_Art_rubbishmonkey
Art style: 3D boxes.
Contains:
● 51 Homebrew
● 95 Famicom (on vertical format).
My take: Is more like a compliment to the RetroKenesis US set.

3.- Nintendo_NES_Cart_Images_V5_by_Soulctcher
Art style: 2D cartridges.
Contains:
● 657 US.
● 37 EUR.
● 82 Unlicensed Carts.
● 16 “World” (this are the original black label ones)
Plus:
● 199 FDS.
● 61 Unlicensed FDS
● 10 “GameCube Edition”.
● 15 Templates.
My take: The organization of this release is pretty, folders for each type. Sadly Soulctcher did not took full advantage of the max size posible for the artworks, and using cartridge style makes the actual ‘cover art’ even smaller. Where are talking of a size reduction bigger than 50%! (compared to my 2D covers) Altough cartridge looks cool and this set is well done… is not my cup of tea. Maybe for a famicom collection this style could make it for me, since cartridges in Japan are variant in size/color/shape.

4.- Nintendo_NES_Carts_Vector_by_EM
Art style: 3D Cartridges.
Contains:
● 786 US.
My take: wow that style looks very profesional, and the entire set is very well done as well, is 100% consistent. Again, cartridge-look is not what Im looking for my NES mini, the artworks gets reduced and is very repetitive. Cons:
– Images are 609px (that’s no a big deal since the can be resized in batch).
– If you need more artworks in this style there will be no easy to find/make.
If you are looking just for the NES US only, this could be your thing, even more if you dig the ‘NES Minimal Mod By Karakenio’ (post comming soon).

5.- Title Screens (Named_Titles)
Art style: 2D Pixelart.
Contains:
● 2779 US, EUR, JP, and demos.
My take: Did you know Nintendo originally planned to have these artworks on the NES Classic Edition!?
“(…) the original plan was only to show the title screen of the various games on the menu UI since dealing with copyrights would be difficult. But when they put up those on the menu, everything was basically in black, since it was common for title screens at the time to be on a black background.”Vía.
Some arts get repeated 2-3 times. And some HAVE to get repeated because the games are too similars (let’s say a demo vs the final cut). Sad detail: these images (original nes resolution) are not exactly the pixel size the NES mini uses. These are put toghether in LibRetro (Link later)
[LINK]
6.- Gameplay (Named_Snaps)
Art style: 2D Pixelart.
Contains:
● 2782 US, EUR, JP, and demos.
My take: This is the best way to know how the gameplay actually looks like, and you dont get deceive by those 80′-90’s rad artworks with shitty games inside. These are put toghether too in LibRetro (Link later)
[LINK]
7.- Azvarel RetroGamer on Youtube
Art style: 2D Pixelart + 3D cover art + logo.
Contains:
● 1319 US, EUR, JP, and bootlegs.
[LINK]
8.- Nintendo Entertainment System 3D Box Pack 1.0.3 (by Kondorito)
Art style: 3D box.
Contains:
● 947 US, EUR, JP, and demos. (?)
My take: 409x632px / 359.79 MB. Wow, I gotta take my hat off. Kudos to Kondorito, one of the best on the ‘scene of cover arts’. These are not the common box artworks with fake spines, these are the “”real”” deal, like an actual cover.

9.- Nintendo NES 2D Boxes Pack 2.0 (By Circo)
Art style: 2D boxes.
Contains:
● 851 US?
467.03 MB | PNG | 496×680 | Naming Convention No-Intro / HyperBase.
My take: Nice, this is what I originaly was looking for, just the original 2D covers. Nice plus is that this collection seems to get updated constantly. On the other hand, arts can be improved and doesn’t have the actual size for the NES Classic.

The NES Classic Mini is capable of playing SNES games with a little modding (no hardware modification). It’s very easy to setup and anybody can do it. Simply follow our friendly guide and start adding and running SNES ROMs on your NES Classic Mini.
Before we get started:
You will need a computer running Windows to complete this tutorial. This guide uses the latest version of hakchi2 CE which we highly recommend.
If you have already installed hakchi2 CE to your console then: run hakchi2 CE, connect your device to your computer, and turn it on. Wait until the status shows Online then skip to step #6. Otherwise, please start from step #1.
1. Download hakchi2 CE (click on hakchi2-ce-#.#.#-release.zip) and extract it to your computer.
2. Open hakchi.exe.
3. Go to Kernel > Install / Repair.
4. Hit Yes to flash custom kernel.
5. Connect your NES Mini to your computer with the included micro-USB cable and if prompted, make sure you install the drivers – you will only need to install the drivers your first time. Now follow the instructions on the screen: hold the Reset button, turn on the Power switch, and then after a few seconds release the Reset button.
6. After the flashing is complete, go to Modules > KMFD’s Mod Hub.
7. Go to the KMFD RetroArchtab, select the latest RetroArch, and press Download and Install Module.
8. Go to the KMFD Cores tab, select Snes9x2010 under the Super Nintendo|Super Famicom section, and press Download and Install Module.
9. Exit the Mod Hub and press Add more games. Now add your ROMs (you can add multiple files at a time and you do not need to extract the ROMs if they are in a zip file).
10. (Optional) Select a game and you can edit the information including the game name, box art, and more on the right side under Game options. You can also right-click the game and hit Download box art for selected games to automatically download the box art.
11. Highlight all of the SNES games and right-click. Press Select emulation core…
12. Select the game title and under the Core section, select Snes9x2010. Hit Apply then Close.
13. Press Synchronize selected games with NES/SNES Mini.
The remaining storage on the console is displayed on the bottom status bar. If you are running out of memory, we recommend the USB-host tutorial which will allow you to run games off an external USB flash drive.
Once it is done, you can turn off the console, unplug it from your computer, connect it to your TV, and start playing SNES games on your NES Classic Mini.
Since the NES controller does not have as many buttons as the SNES controller, you may need to map the buttons on NES controller or you buy a different controller. We recommend the 8Bitdo Sn30 controller and receiver.
1. After you launch the game, press Start & Select to open up the RetroArch menu.
2. Go to Options and go down to Controls.
On this page you will be able to configure your controller.
You do not need to redo all these steps to add more games in the future.
1. Run hakchi.exe.
2. Hit Add more games and add your ROMs.
3. Hit Synchronize selected games with NES/SNES Mini.
4. When prompted, connect your NES Classic Mini and turn it on.
It’s that easy to add more games after the initial setup!
If you are having issues playing select Super Nintendo / Super Famicom games on your NES Classic Mini, follow our troubleshooting guide. Common issues includes slow gameplay, graphical glitches, no music or bad music, or selecting a game and it boots to a black screen or doesn’t load and goes back to the game selection menu. To resolve, you will need to try different cores and assigning them to the specific game you are having issues with.
Downloading and Assigning Cores to Specific Games
1. Open hakchi2, connect your console, turn it on, and wait until the status is Online before you continue to the next step.
2. Go to Modules > KMFD’s Mod Hub.
3. Go to the KMFD Cores tab, go to the Super Nintendo|Super Famicom section, and download and install a different core.
4. Exit out of the Mod Hub and right-click on the problem game and press Select emulation core…
5. Select the game title and under the Core section, select the new core. Hit Apply.
6. Hit Synchronize selected games with NES/SNES Mini.
Snes Box Art Complete Set
7. After the sync is complete, turn off your console and disconnect it from your computer. You can now test out the game. If the game is still having issues, you will need to try a different core until you find one that works. Please note that some games just don’t run well on the NES console regardless of which core you select.
